A Christmas Soiree

We pulled it off once again...

we were closed for 2 days

this year as we felt more time

would leave happy faces

on our faces! The final 5

hours and we were working

like robots...making funny noises, grunting and groaning because our backs and hips had really been put to the test. We completely changed every display and moved every peice of furniture along with bringing in new pieces. Many thanks go out to our niece/daughter Wendy for being such a trooper, she just came in and basically read our minds, removed fall displays outside, planted trees in the urns, brought us coffee, etc., etc., etc. and even worked Friday night! Thank you again Wendy!

Saturday was our big bash to start off the holiday season and it was a smashing success! Our heartfelt thanks go out to our loyal customers as the general consensus was that they would rather support small local business rather than the big box stores! How great is that!

Ahtumn Bounty

I believe we feel off the face of the earth...but no worries we're back at it and going strong. Lots of projects in the works for the holidays, many long hours and sleepless nights. Ordering, planning, creating, updating, and on and on and on!

In our shop, we like to give inspiration by using materials that are readily found at farmers markets, fruit stands, along the road, from your yard and even the hubby's scrap pile. My friend Lynette (garden girl) made the wire nest from old baling wire, layered some moss in the bottom, cut several branches from white Birch tree and then put my fairy tail and heirloom squash in..Waa Laa..instant center piece for any island, table, outdoor bench, whatever your little hearts desire!
Wait till you see the hops..they only cost a case of beer (Busch, not the good stuff!)

Sorry for the delay...i've been working on this post for almost a week.



All that we can say is WOW! This was one of the best shows we've ever participated in. We love this world, this magical, wonderful, antique lovin' world...what an honor it has been to be in the company of such fabulous, creative, and just down-right NICE women and artisans!

The wonderful customers waited 1-1/2 hrs, in the rain, and some driving 200-400 miles just to attend. WOW! Like martha from http://www.vintagetrifles.blogspot.com/, she won the award for best shopping cart!


These are our booth partners...Lynette and Carrie of 'garden girl'. What a pleasure it was to share space with them - and also lynette's 'honey' - what a trooper he was, dealing with 5 women and always with a smile on his face. Someone does have a photo of him taking a quick 5 in the back of lynettes truck.

Here are some pic's of our space...it was crammed to the hilt. If we had a ladder that was tall enough, we would have stacked it to the rafters. Teri from the Farm Chicks visited with us on Sunday and let us know that 3600+ came through the gate on saturday. And believe me, people were packed shoulder to shoulder, but there was not a crabby person in the house!

Saturday afternoon around 5:00 we completely re-arranged and brought in new inventory. Thankfully we brought a huge trailer so we had plenty of goodies to refresh! We decided on the way home Sunday night (after delivering a piece of furniture) that next year we would need a bigger space!

Unfortunatley, we only have pic's of our space, we didn't really get to wander around until sunday. But we did get to visit with some old friends and made some new. Bari J had the most awesome handbags and came all the way from San Francisco, what a sweatheart! http://barij.typepad.com/my_weblog/. I know i've left someone out...but the brian has not kicked back in yet.

Farm Chicks

The hours are ticking away and we're checking our lists twice, double checking each others lists and triple checking all the last minute details for our road-trip, (especially who is in charge of the adult beverages!). We'll be loading the trailer tonight so we can head out tomorrow night after work for Spokane. I'll have someone else use my camera for photo's - i've decided I SUCK as a photographer!

Chehalis Road Trip

Another dreary (rainy) morning as sis and i are on the way to 'an antique sale' in Chehalis WA. We've timed the trip before and it takes 2 hours and 45 minutes with 2 pit stops (1 potty-1coffee). Arrived at the show about 10 minutes before it opened and visited with other excited shoppers. 20 minutes later we had gone through the show twice and left empty handed...we couldn't believe we bought zip!! So we headed off the Centrailia to see what we could find.





We drove through the country-side and saw a sign that advertised 'miniature cows' so we quickly deduced that must be where 'petite sirloin' comes from, and we laughed....until we came across some mini-houses - no kidding! and people lived in them, we could see couches and TV's through their open front doors, and we laughed... Stopped by a yard sale and the following greeted us:




He was no mini, but really wanted his pic taken! We were trying to decide if he was a horse or a mule. Mule!
